Celebrate International Women’s Day on March 7, 2019 with Women in Communications and Technology and The London Club Speaker Series. Make meaningful connections and listen to the stories of influential leaders who are making a difference for women—both locally and beyond.

About our speakers:
MC: Rachel Ettinger, Morning Show, 97.5 Virgin Radio, Founder, Here For Her
Rachel Ettinger is a part of Jeff and Rachel in the Morning with Backstage Ben on 97.5 Virgin Radio London. Straight out of university, Rachel did the morning show in Halifax, NS on Virgin Radio Halifax and then moved into her current role in London two years ago. Along with working full-time, she is doing her MBA degree at Wilfrid Laurier University part-time. Rachel is also the creator of Here for Her, a social enterprise that aims to reduce the stigma around women’s health through awareness, education, discussions and charity work. Through social media (@ShopHereforHer), Here for Her challenges norms and provides a safe, non-judgemental place for people to discuss both mental and physical health. HFH consists of a network of health professionals that give tips on how to take control of your health. When Rachel is not working or doing schoolwork in some capacity, she is riding her horse Gidget, doing pilates or reading!

Keynote Address: Dr. Susan Mumm, Principal, Brescia College University
Susan Mumm became Principal of Brescia University, Canada's only women's university, in July 2016. Prior to that she was the Dean of Arts and Science at Queen's University (2013-16), Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Massey University, New Zealand (2009-13), Dean of Arts and Science, Mount Saint Vincent University (2006-2009), Senior Lecturer/Department Head at the Open University, United Kingdom (1996-2006), and Assistant Professor of History at York University (1992-96).
She received her doctorate in History as a Commonwealth Scholar at the University Sussex, and studied for her BA and MA at the University of Saskatchewan. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Her publications have engaged with a number of aspects of women's history (religious and philanthropic, leadership, sexual politics) in Victorian Britain.
Book publications include Stolen Daughter, Virgin Sisters: Anglican Sisterhoods in Victorian Britain (Leicester UP); All Saints Sisters of the Poor (Boydell & Brewster, Church of England Record Series). Her favourite journal article is "A Peril to the Bench of Bishops: Sisterhoods and Episcopal Authority in the Church of England, 1845-1908", Journal of Ecclesiastical History (2008) and her most recent publication is a chapter in the Oxford History of the Anglican Church (2017) on the feminization of Anglicanism.
