Angela Brown: A Trailblazer in Fintech in Conversation with Lisa Carroll
Easily, elegantly and almost imperceptibly, the way we pay for things has changed. We are no longer hindered by a ballast of coins at the bottom of our handbags and pockets. Payments today - for everything from our morning bus ride, to our transfusions of coffee, to our business essential like phones and computers – occur with the swipe of a card or with the press of a button.
Angela Brown, President and CEO of Moneris Solutions, has spent her career in the forefront of the electronic payments industry, influencing and leading its evolution in Canada. She will share her perspective on the present and future of this technology and on the broader fintech industry in general at the next ITAC WCT Women in Leadership event. In conversation with Lisa Carroll, Senior Vice-president of CGI and co-chair of ITAC’s Gender Diversity Forum, Angela will also reflect on the personal philosophy and career strategies that helped her succeed.
Throughout the year ITAC and WCT collaborate to produce the Women in Leadership series featuring some of the most dynamic and inspiring leaders in Canada’s technology industry. This is the first time this series will be presented in Alberta. It will offer a unique opportunity to hear from an accomplished and thoughtful technology CEO about her career journey. The program will also feature a special networking reception hosted by CGI.
Angela’s presentation will be informative and inspiring. Through the generous support of Cenovus Energy, it will take place in one of the most spectacular venues in Calgary. It promises to be a great event. We hope you can join us.
Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) and the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) will produce a series of events to inspire and encourage the advancement of women in digital industries such as technology, telecom, broadcasting, fintech etc. This program also includes a Board Discovery Day and a Roundtable Discussion on strategies for the inclusion and advancement of women in the digital economy. ITAC and WCT gratefully acknowledge funding support for this program.
